The garden of sounds - a work in progress since 1996. It is a private garden,
situated on the hills near Massa Marittima in the Province of Grosseto, where
art and nature enter into a relationship of close permeation and great harmony.
Walking around the unsoiled wood of the Maremma ( as much as 12 hectares of land
owned by the sculptor) we are invited to meet the works of Paul Fuchs: sculptures
made of iron, bronze, stone and wood.
Being the result of careful static calculations, these works, composed by two or
more elements standing tens meters high from the ground, still appear slight,
very light and quite vital.
It is actually the wind that makes these sculputers sound in their own strange
and evocative language, sometimes joined by fluttering movements in the air. These
examples of sound sculpture alternate with other works: wood or stone sculptures
made before the birth of the garden and so stylistically different. Here the
greater figurative appearance gives its contribution to the exaltation of the
poetry and the strong fascination that fill all the works of Paul Fuchs.

"Il giardino dei suoni" - un "work in progress" a partire da 1996.
Si tratta di un giardino privato, situato vicino Massa Marittima in Provincia
di Grosseto in cui arte e natura dialogano in un rapporto di stretta compenetrazione
e di grande armonia.
Passeggiando tra l'incontaminata natura del bosco maremmano (ben 12 ettari di terreno
di proprietà dello scultore) siamo invitati all'incontro con le opere di Paul Fuchs:
sculture in ferro, bronzo, pietra e legno. Pur essendo la risultante di attenti
calcoli statici queste opere, composte di due o più elementi che si ergono a decine
di metri dal suolo, ci appaiano esili, leggerissime ed alquanto vitali.
Infatti, è grazie all' azione del vento che queste emettono suoni in un loro strano
e suggestivo linguaggio accompagnato, talvolta, da movimenti fluttuanti nell'aria.
A questi esempi di scultura sonora si alternano altre opere: sculture in legno o in
pietra realizzate precedentemente alla nascita del giardino e quindi stilisticamente
differenti. Qui la maggiore parvenza figurativa contribuisce ad esaltare il senso
di poesia e di forte suggestione che impregna i lavori di Paul Fuchs.
